As the next storm approaches the Northstate we will see more cloud cover, cooler temperatures and even a little wet weather. The bulk of any rain Wednesday afternoon is expected to be in the mountains north of the valley but it's not out of the question for places like Redding or Red Bluff to see a shower or two. We also can't rule out the chance for a few isolated thunderstorms as well.
By Thursday the storm will be to our east but there may still be just enough instability for a few isolated showers in the mountains. There will also still be some cool air in place keeping most of the valley in the 80s.
High pressure will start to build back over the Northstate and the triple digits will return as early as Sunday and will continue to climb as we go into next week.
