Redding, Chico & Red Bluff - Expect lighter winds Friday but still breezy and very dry by the afternoon.
Winds will drop off enough tonight to allow for a chilly night and morning Friday. Mountain basins, valleys and canyons can expect a very cold start.
We will also be tracking a warming trend through this weekend. The same high responsible for the warming trend will bring more gusty northerly winds Friday evening through Saturday.
Even Sunday will be breezy but winds will quickly drop off by the middle of the afternoon.
Forecast models continue to show a wet system by next Thursday. Rain all the way down to the valley is expected. However, this is a day 7 forecast so things can changed a lot until next Thursday.
