We saw a slight drop in our temperatures on Thursday since the beginning of the week but it was still hot with 100+ degree weather for many of us in the valley. We expect Redding and Red Bluff to see highs between 100 and 103 degrees on the 4th of July while Chico will be closer to mid to upper 90s under sunny skies.
The National Weather Service has issued another Red Flag Warning for parts of higher elevations in effect Friday afternoon into the evening hours due to gusty winds and very dry air. Click here for more details.
High pressure builds back over the Northstate over the weekend into the beginning of next week with highs between 105 and 110 degrees in Redding and Red Bluff. Chico is expected to see highs between 100 and 105 degrees.
Monday will be the peak of the heat wave with a gradual cooling trend the rest of the week.
