Valley highs will warm to the mid to upper 90s this afternoon. You can expect similar highs this weekend, with a few spots close to 100 degrees by Sunday.
It gets a little tricky after next Wednesday as the American forecast model (GFS) wants to give us a chance for rain by Thursday of next week. The European model (ECMWF), however, keeps the rain to our north. For now we'll go with cooler temperatures next Thursday under partly cloudy skies.
Near the end of next week the long range forecast models are hinting at our next heat wave with highs back in the triple digits. No guarantees at this point but worth watching closely.
