Monday was another sunny and hot day in the valley with highs in the mid to upper 90s and Redding was able to reach the century mark once again. An area of low pressure just off the coast helped to produce thunderstorms in Trinity, Siskiyou and Del Norte Counties Monday afternoon. The same area of low pressure will travel to the south but will still be close enough on Tuesday to give the mountains a chance for more thunderstorms which may also include the Sierra.
The valley will see a slight drop in their temperatures the next few days but it will still be warm with highs in the mid 90s on average. High pressure will try to build back over Northern California during the second half of the week keeping us under sunny skies but we may also see the winds pick up a bit from the north.
