Although our temperatures weren't as warm as Labor Day it was still hot on Tuesday with highs in the upper 90s to around 100 degrees. As an area of low pressure slides to our north and east the winds will pick up from the north increasing the fire danger for parts of the Northstate. The National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning for western Siskiyou and Trinity Counties from 11pm Tuesday unti l 11pm Wednesday due to strong north winds and low relative humidity. The north winds may also give the Redding area smoky skies on Wednesday.
Highs in the valley will be in the mid to upper 90s through Saturday before dropping to the low to mid 90s near the beginning of next week. The cooler weather next week may not last long as the long range forecast models are hinting at more triple digit heat by next Wednesday.
