The northern valley will warm to around 110 degrees this afternoon.  Monsoon moisture will continue to move closer to the Northstate today.  Mountain thunderstorm chances increasing into Tuesday.

FIRE WEATHER WATCH

As early as late this afternoon and evening we'll start to see cumulus build and even some isolated storms drift north into the Northstate.  Expect to see thicker clouds as the moisture approaches.  These thicker clouds may actually slow down some of the valley locations in Butte and Glenn county the next couple of days.

The moisture plume will be right on top of the Northstate tomorrow.  This will give us the best chances of seeing thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon and evening.  Forecasted moisture levels are actually high enough that by tomorrow thunderstorms will have heavy downpours.  However, lightning can still strike away from the main rain shaft.  Thunderstorms will also have very gusty outflows.
