We were once again watching thunderstorms in the Northern Sierra on Friday with sunny skies and below average temperatures in the valley. We expect more of the same to start your weekend with slightly warmer temperatures in the valley reaching the low 90s to right around 100 degrees with another chance for mountain showers and thunderstorms.
A weak disturbance is expected to move through the Northstate late Saturday into Sunday not only giving us cooler temperatures but also giving the mountains and the valley a chance for showers and thunderstorms.
By Monday and Tuesday the chances for rain diminish but we will still have some cooler air in place allowing our highs to drop to the upper 80s and low 90s.
High pressure will slowly build starting the middle of next week allowing the triple digits to eventually return.
