Monday was another record breaking day for Redding Red Bluff and Chico along with some mountain communities topping out in the mid 70’s for the valley.  We expect more of the same the next few days with highs in the low to mid 70’s with more records being threatened.  Above average highs will be the story for the rest of the week and weekend.

We are watching for the potential of strong north winds on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  With already dry conditions the north winds will only make it worse giving us higher fire danger.

In the long range we are still seeing some change for the better as we approach days 8 through 12.  The biggest change may be the persistent ridge of high pressure breaking down allowing clouds and cooler temperatures to move in and maybe even some rain.  At this point we are not guaranteeing anything but hopeful.
