Increasing monsoonal moisture will help to destabilize the atmosphere this afternoon and evening.  The National Weather Service has issued Red Flag Warnings for the mountains for threat of thunderstorms and dry lightning.

The monsoon moisture will be in place on Tuesday giving the mountains a chance for isolated showers and thunderstorms.  This will increase the threat for dry lightning which is why the National Weather Service has issued a Red Flag Warning andFire Weather Watch for many of the mountain locations.

We will see some lingering monsoon moisture tomorrow bringing another chance of mountain thunderstorms.  Models are even showing a cut-off low just offshore Thursday that could even keep the moisture around through Thursday.

We will see a gradual decrease in our temperatures this week eventually dropping to the upper 90s for most of us in the valley by Friday.  The cooling trend won't last for long as the triple digits will return this weekend into next week.
