We saw a surge of showers and thunderstorms push through the overnights hours into Friday morning. As we head into the afternoon the valley will clear out but there will still be a chance of mountain thunderstorms.
With a southwest flow aloft Saturday into Sunday, I only expect a little mountain development near and east of the crest.
Our next heatwave builds in from the Desert Southwest beginning Sunday. By Monday into Tuesday a slug of moisture out of the subtropics, near the Baja, will work north. Mid level moisture should begin to work into the Northstate by Tuesday. We could see some mountain thunderstorms but could be fairly wet, with mid level moisture very high.
