Redding, Chico & Red Bluff - Afternoon highs will be near to slightly above normal this weekend for the Northstate.
A few spots in the valley will likely reach 100° on Saturday with slightly cooler afternoon highs on Sunday.
Monday is still expected to be the coolest day of the next 7 days thanks to a trough passing by to our north.
The trough or dip in the jet stream is expected to quickly exit Tuesday and allow for high pressure to build into Northern California from the west. This will allow for much warmer afternoon highs.
Afternoon highs should run 5-10 degrees above normal by Wednesday and possibly all the way through next weekend.
