Monsoon moisture continues to sit overhead the Northstate today. Daytime heating plus a cold front to our northwest will allow for thunderstorms to form today.
A trough of low pressure will slide down from out of the northwest the next couple of days. The cold front ahead of this trough may increase thunderstorm coverage this afternoon. This will also increase south and southeasterly winds for the valley floor for the second half of the afternoon.
Enough monsoon moisture in place tomorrow plus the added instability from the trough will give the Northstate one more day of thunderstorms. Precipitable water values will drop drastically Wednesday and Thursday, likely ending our thunderstorms chances through Friday.
