As high pressure in the Desert Southwest starts to build over the Northstate our temperatures will warm up.  We didn't quite reach 100 degrees on Thursday but that will change by Friday.  Not all of us in the valley are expected to reach 100 since the gusty north winds will no longer be part of the equation but places like  Redding and Red Bluff will most likely reach the century mark.  Chico and Oroville will most likely just be able to dodge the triple digits.

The heat will stick around through most of next week before we see another slight drop in our temperatures. We may also see more monsoon moisture work its way up the Sierra for more mountain thunderstorms next week.
