Valley highs will warm 5 to 10 degrees compared to Wednesday, with the hotter spots hitting the upper 90s.  We'll also see breezy north, northwest winds through this afternoon.

High pressure over the Desert Southwest will slowly build in our direction meaning we will see an increase in our temperatures.  It will probably still be below 100 degrees on Thursday but many of us in the valley will be back in the triple digits by Friday.

The warming trend will last into next week with highs over 100 degrees under sunny skies.  Monsoon moisture may also work its way back to the Northstate next week giving the mountains a chance for isolated thunderstorms.
