Despite some pop up mountain showers this afternoon, the Northstate will be much warmer this afternoon. Valley highs will warm to the low to mid 60s.
The best chance for any rain today will be in the mountains through the afternoon into the evening hours. Snow levels are expected to be between 4000 and 5000 feet.
A weak cold front will move into the Northstate by the late afternoon hours Thursday. You will notice the increasing clouds throughout the day but rain should stay off to the west. We will likely see some showers down to the valley floor Thursday evening but not widespread. Showers will begin to wrap up by Friday afternoon.
Behind the cold front an amplified ridge of high pressure will build in. The ridge will warm valley highs to the 70s by Saturday. As early as Sunday some valley locations will come close to 80 degrees. Highs near 80 will stick around through Tuesday.
