The Delta Breeze along with cooler air over the Pacific Northwest helped to drop our temperatures by a few degrees on Friday. However, it will warm up this weekend with highs back in the mid 90s in Redding and Red Bluff while Chico and Oroville will be in the low 90s under sunny skies.
High pressure will build over the Northstate early next week and some of us in the valley could flirt with the triple digits. The ridge will break down the second half of the week allowing our temperatures to drop once again.
We are tracking Tropical Storm Marie in the Eastern Pacific now off the coast of Southern Mexico. It will weaken significantly as is moves to the north but one of the forecast models (American GFS) is bringing some of the moisture associated with Marie over Northern California by Labor Day weekend giving us some rain. This is still over a week away and other forecast models don't bring the moisture anywhere near us but it's at least a ray of hope for some much needed rain. We'll keep you posted.
