Dry weather aids winter wildfire

REDDING, Calif. - Dry weather is contributing to a 180-acre wildfire burning in the Ishi Wilderness.

It's called the Campbell Wildfire.

It lies east of the valley, burning in Lassen National Forest in Tehama County. Smoke can be seen rising from the area.

The closest named community is Campbellville. The town lies about a mile and a half from the fire.

The Bureau of Land Management, the Forest Service, and CAL FIRE are all on the fire lines, boasting about 100 people.

The fire is 30 percent contained at 180 acres as of 4:18 p.m. according to the U.S. Forest Service.

No structures are threatened.

Lassen National Forest officials are asking people to stay out of the area.
