Fire Off of Shasta Dam Blvd.; All Roads Now Open

SHASTA COUNTY, Calif. - CAL FIRE and Redding Fire Dept. are responding to a 20-acre fire on Shasta Dam Blvd. near the Tierra Oaks Golf Course.

There are about 150 personnel on the scene and CAL FIRE had CHP closing the following roads at Union School and Tierra Oaks and Phaedra Ln. These roads are now reopened. No structures are threatened as of 3 p.m. and no structures have burned.

The fire is a multiple spot fire in an area with heavy vegetation about a mile east of Interstate 5. I is off of Moody Creek Dr. along a private air strip with a single runway. The U.S. Forest Service is using the landing strip as a natural breaker.

CAL FIRE told us that they expect to have the fire fully contained in about 2 and a half hours.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
