Wind advisory for Shasta and Tehama Counties until 8pm this evening.
The winds will increase towards the early afternoon where they’ll peak around 25mph sustained. Gusts could hit the 40mph mark during that time. The wind will start to slacken off towards this evening and will eventually calm down to about 5-10 mph overnight into Thursday morning. We’ll see the chance for a few sprinkles and flurries in the mountains today but there won’t be any chance for rain or snow in the valley. The best we’ll get are a few slightly thicker clouds, but they’ll be pretty short lived and should be out of here by the afternoon. Temperatures will remain below average today with highs peaking in the mid 70s, so temperature wise today will be very comfortable.
Thursday and Friday the winds die down and the few clouds we have overhead will depart leaving the NorthState with wonderful fall weather. Temperatures will rise slightly, but will stay in that near perfect zone of the mid to upper 70s. Expect low 80s this weekend with brilliant sunshine overhead.
